Blessed be the God and Father of
our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual
blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us
in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and
without blame before him in love: Eph 1:3-4
A family usually spends about 30
minutes to an hour a day in family devotions teaching their children
the way of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, through His Holy word.
If a family spent 30 minutes a day in
devotion, that would be 185.5 hours a year. But in this fast moving
society we would be fortunate to get in half this time.
But imagine if you could spend 15 hours
a day for one week with a child, giving them the love, grace, and
mercy that Jesus gave the children that He commanded His disciple’s to
suffer unto him; teaching biblical values, spiritual unity, and the
grace of God, through class, counseling, play and worship service.
That would be 90 plus hours in one week of undivided Spiritual
attention, by the best spiritually minded teachers, evangelist, and
counselors available to us by our Lord Jesus Christ. This would almost
make up half of the time we lose in family devotion when society
interferes.
But ye are a chosen generation, a
royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should
shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into
his marvellous light: 1Pet 2: 9
The Scripture speaks of the election of
individuals to office or to honour and privilege, e.g., Abraham,
Jacob, Saul, David, Solomon, were all chosen by God for the positions
they held; so also were the apostles. There is also an election of
nations to special privileges, e.g., the Hebrews But in addition
there is an election of individuals to eternal life
The ground of this election to
salvation is the good pleasure of God Ye have not chosen me, but I
have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth
fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask
of the Father in my name, he may give it you. John 15:16 It is
not conditioned on faith or repentance, but is of soverign grace All
that pertain to salvation, the means as well as the end, are of God.
Faith and repentance and all other graces are the exercises of a
regenerated soul; and regeneration is God's work, a "new creature."
Men are elected "to salvation," "to the adoption of sons," "to be holy
and without blame before him in love" The ultimate end of election is
the praise of God's grace.
As with all things camp comes with a
price. Time given by the staff members who take off from work and away
from their families to do the will of the Lord and finances
The Lord took 6 days to create the
world and all around it and in it. If God grants me, and the staff He
has provided, 7days to plant one seed into the heart of a child, then
we give God all the praise and glory.
It cost a camper $81.00 and a
staff member $50.00 for registration, camp shirt, picture, and a snack
card. To help keep the cost of camp down, you can give a donation to
camp. I know the Lord will bless us all if we will give from the
heart. Or if you wish, you can sponsor a camper to go to camp. There
are many families that can not afford to send their child to camp and
sometimes the churches come up short in their fund raisers. We know
the realization that we will not be able to reach every child in
Georgia and Florida, but if you would help one child and if it takes 7
days to plant the seed of our Lord Jesus Christ, it would be worth
every penny spent. Praise God!
